WORLD WAR 1: Somme Battlefields and Ypres visit

Departing from the UK we will catch an afternoon ferry and visit Vimy Ridge Battlefield and Memorial en route to our hotel.

We spend a day touring the Somme Battlefields, seeing Thiepval, Delville Wood (Devils Wood), Mametz Wood, Albert, Lochnagar Memorial Crater, Fricourt, Beaumont Hamel, Serre and many other places of interest. We also visit the Ypres Salient seeing Ploegsteert, Messines Ridge, Ypres, The Menin Gate, Tyne Cot, Passchendaele.

This tour will visit Loos Battlefield and Memorial en route to our hotel. We spend a day touring the Somme Battlefields, seeing Thiepval, Delville Wood (Devils Wood), Mametz Wood , Albert, Lochnagar Memorial Crater, Fricourt, Beaumont Hamel, Serre, and many other places of interest.

We also visit the Ypres Salient seeing Ploegsteert, Messines Ridge, Ypres, The Menin Gate, Tyne Cot and Passchendaele. Special Visits included.

This battle tour will visit Vimy Ridge Canadian Memorial en route to our hotel. Day two will be spent touring the Ypres Salient, with a walk around and into Ploegsteert Wood , Messines Ridge, Paschendaele and Ypres (Menin Gate), where we attend the Last Post Ceremony at 8.00pm.

We also visit the Somme Battlefields, Delville Wood, Lochnagar Memorial Crater and Thiepval Memorial to the Missing.

Special Visits included to any Cemetery in the Salient.

This tour visits Loos Battlefield and Memorial and Dud Corner Cemetery before arriving at our hotel.

On the second day, the 1st July, we join the 'Friends of Lochnagar' at their Service of Remembrance at Lochnagar Memorial Crater. This will be followed by the Official Service under the auspices of the Royal British Legion at Thiepval. The tour then includes a visit to the battlefields, seeing such places as Delville Wood, Mametz Wood, Albert, Pozieres, Butte De Warlencourt and many other places of interest.

On the final day we travel home, visiting Ypres and seeing Plugstreet, Messines Ridge, the Menin Gate, the infamous Menin Road and Paschendaele en route to the ferry.

The next day, 11th November, we will attend the Armistice Day Parade in Ypres and the Service of Remembrance at the Menin Gate. This will be followed by a tour of the Ypres Salient, visiting Ploegsteert, Messines Ridge, Tyne Cot, Passchendaele, Essex Farm, St George's Chapel, the Cloth Hall and many more places of interest.

We pay a visit to the Toc H Headquarters at Poperinghe en-route to the ferry on the return trip home the next day.
