WWI 100 Years Anniversary Tours – 2018

This year we are again running a number of special tours to commemorate World War I 100th Anniversaries, the full list of these is available here. Union Jack WORLD WAR 1: Armistice in Ypres and Somme Battlefield Tour

9th–12th November
4 Days, 3 Nights

A special, 4-day, 100 year Anniversary Tour led by Nick Fear and covering the Armistice in Ypres and Somme Battlefield Tour

Day 1 – Travel from the UK for our visit to the Somme and Ypres, including Special Visits en route to our overnight hotel.

Day 2 – Today we visit Albert, Thiepval, Beaumont Hamel, Delville Wood (Devil's Wood), the South African Memorial and Museum, Mametz Wood, High Wood, Lochnagar Memorial Crater, Pozieres, Guillemont, Ginchy, Butte de Warlencourt and many other places of interest, taking in Special Visits en route.

Day 3 – Armistice Day – we visit Ypres and participatate in the service of remembrance at the Menin Gate, after which we will have a tour of the Ypres Salient seeing such places as Passchendaele, Tyne Cot, Langemark, Pilkem Ridge, Essex Farm, Messines Ridge, Ploegsteert, the Cloth Hall, St George's Chapel and many other places of interest.

Day 4 – En route home on the final day of this tour we visit Vimy Ridge to see the preserved trenches and Canadian Memorial, before boarding the afternoon ferry.
