WWI 100 Years Anniversary Tours – 2018
This year we are again running a number of special tours to commemorate World War I 100th Anniversaries, the full list of these is available here. WORLD WAR 1: Armistice at Thiepval Memorial, Somme and Ypres Battlefield Tour
4 Days, 3 Nights
A special, 4-day, 100 year Anniversary Armistice tour led by Ian Alexander and covering the Armistice at Thiepval Memorial, the Somme and Ypres Battlefield.
Day 1 – Travel to France for our visit to the Somme and Ypres with Special Visits en route to our overnight Hotel.
Day 2 – Today we visit the Ypres Salient seeing Ploegsteert, Messines Ridge, Passchendaele, Tyne Cot, Langemark, Pilkem Ridge, Essex Farm, The Cloth Hall, St George's Chapel and many other places of interest. We will also take part in the Service of Remembrance at the Menin Gate at 8.00pm.
Day 3 – Armistice Day – we will attend the Armistice Service at Thiepval. The tour will also visit the town of Albert, Beaumont Hamel, Delville Wood (Devil's Wood), the South African Memorial and Museum, Mametz Wood, High Wood, Lochnagar Memorial Crater, Pozieres, Guillemont, Ginchy and Butte de Warlencourt. It will also take in Special Visits as required and visit many other places of interest.
Day 4 – En route home on the final day of this tour we visit Vimy Ridge to see the preserved trenches and Canadian Memorial.
