WWI 100 Years Anniversary Tours – 2018

This year we are again running a number of special tours to commemorate World War I 100th Anniversaries, the full list of these is available here. Union Jack WORLD WAR 1: Armistice in Mons and Ypres Battlefield Tour

9th–12th November
4 Days, 3 Nights

A special, 4-day, 100 year Anniversary Tour led by Terry Webb and covering the Armistice in Mons and Ypres Battlefield.

Day 1 – Travel to France for our visit to Mons and Ypres.

Day 2 – Today we tour the Mons Battlefield, looking at the various scenes of action in and around this beautiful old Flemish town. We will see the locations of the actions that resulted in the awarding of the first Victoria Crosses of the Great War; the cavalry charge at Audregnies and the saving of the guns at Elouges. We will also facilitate Special Visits in the area and visit many other places of interest.

Day 3 – Armistice Day – we will attend the Armistice Service at Mons, spending the day in and around the town and museum.

Day 4 – En route home on the final day of this tour we visit the Ypres Salient, seeing Passchendaele, Tyne Cot, Langemark, Pilkem Ridge, Essex Farm and many other places of interest.
